Chung Shan Medical University
Chung Shan Medical University (CSMU; ) is a medical university located in South District, Taichung, Taiwan. Chung Shan Medical University Hospital is affiliated with the university. History The university was established as Chung Shan Dentistry Specialized School () in 1960, by Dr. Chou Ju-chuan (周汝川; ), a Taiwanese dentist. At first it only provided four year dentistry education, and enrolled only 112 students. In 1962 it changed its name into Chung Shan Medical Specialized School (), and provided medical education from then. In 1977, it was upgraded to Chung Shan Medical College (), and in August 2001 it was certified by the Ministry of Education as a normalized university named Chung Shan Medical University. Chi-Chao Chan
Chi-Chao Chan is a Chinese-born American ophthalmologist and physician-scientist specialized in the diagnosis and pathology of eye diseases. She joined the National Eye Institute (NEI) as a postdoctoral researcher in 1982 and remained until her retirement in 2015. Chan was promoted in 1999 to senior investigator and chief of the NEI immunopathology section and the histopathology core. Education Chan completed a M.D. at Chung Shan Medical College (Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences) in 1967 just as the Cultural Revolution was commencing. She came to the U.S. via Hong Kong in 1968. Chan learned English at Boston University and took undergraduate courses at Kent State University and Johns Hopkins University. The Taichung MRT (also called Taichung Mass Rail Transit or Taichung Metro) is a rapid transit system in Taichung, Taiwan. In addition to Taichung, it may serve Changhua and Nantou counties in the future. Taichung Metro's first route, the Green Line, officially began operation on April 25, 2021, making it the 5th rapid transit system operating in Taiwan. Daqing station () is a railway and metro station located in South District, Taichung, Taiwan. It is served by the Taiwan Railways Administration and Taichung Metro. The metro station opened on December 19, 2020. Overview The station began as a TRA at-grade local station. The TRA station was elevated on October 28, 2018, as part of the modernization process on the Taichung Line. The metro portion of the station is also elevated, and the two are connected by a bridge. Legislative Yuan
The Legislative Yuan is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for 4-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanking, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution.
