Christopher Rühr
Jan Christopher Rühr (born 19 December 1993) is a German field hockey player who plays as a forward for Rot-Weiss Köln and the Germany national team. Rühr was awarded the FIH Rising Star of the Year Award in 2013 and 2015. He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he won the bronze medal. He was educated at Seaford College. Career Rühr played in his childhood as his 3 older siblings at Kahlenberger HTC, he played in the youth of Uhlenhorst Mülheim for 10 years and in the 2014–15 season in Hamburg for Club an der Alster for one year. He was voted "talent of the world" in January 2014, moved to Rot-Weiss Köln in 2015 and won the German field hockey championship in his first season with the Cologne team. In January 2016, he was voted the "Rising Star" (Best Youth Player of the World) for the second time. Hockey Junior World Cup
The Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup, formerly known as the Hockey Junior World Cup, is an international field hockey competition organized by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The tournament was started in 1979. Since 1985 it has been held every four years.With the exception of the 2021 tournament,competitors must be under the age of 21 as of December 31 in the year before the tournament is held. There is also a corresponding event for the women's junior teams. This competition started in 1989 and uses the same format as the men's event. Five countries have dominated the event's history. Germany is the most successful team, having won the tournament six times followed by Argentina and India, having won the tournament two times. Australia and Pakistan have each won the tournament once. The 2009 Junior World Cup was held jointly between Malaysia and Singapore, with Germany defeating the Netherlands 3–1 in the final. Feldhockey Bundesliga (Men's Field Hockey)
The Feldhockey Bundesliga is the top level of men's field hockey in Germany and is managed by the German Hockey Federation. The league currently ranks first in the men's European league rankings. It was established in 1937. Format The season starts in August or September and is interrupted by the indoor hockey season from November to March. From April the outdoor season will be continued. Since the 2011–12 season the league was played by twelve teams who played each other twice and who competed for four spots in the championship play-offs. The number one and four and the number two and three played each other in the semi-final and winners qualified for the final where the winner was crowned champion. The two last-placed teams were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2019–20 season the German Hockey Federation introduced a new format.
