Christopher O'Donnell (athlete)
Christopher O'Donnell (born 17 May 1998) is an Irish track and field athlete competing in sprinting events. He was part of the Irish Mixed 4x400m team who won a gold medal at the 2024 European Athletics Championships. He represented Ireland at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in the Mixed relay, where he was part of the first ever Irish team to run in an Olympic final, and competed in the same event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He was also part of the team who reached the final of the 2022 and 2023 World Championships. He is the current Irish U20 record holder in the 400m, his personal best of 45.26 seconds sits joint-2nd on the Irish all-time list and he is a 5-time National 400m champion. 2019 European Athletics Team Championships
The 2019 European Athletics Team Championships (ETC) in athletics were held in four cities from 9–11 August 2019. Grouping and host cities Grouping Exceptionally, for this 2019 edition, the following relegation and promotion principles were used: * The lowest 5 classified teams in the Super League shall be relegated to the First League. SFAI Kennedy Cup
The SFAI Kennedy Cup also known as the SFAI Umbro Kennedy Cup or just the Kennedy Cup, is an underage association football tournament organized by the Schoolboy's Football Association of Ireland annually for representative boy's under-14 league teams across the Republic of Ireland, as well as Northern Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Umbro and has previously been sponsored by New Balance. Format The competition typically consists of 32 representative league teams, each selecting 20 players, split into 8 groups of 4 teams, with seeding being decided based on the team's finish the year before. The winner's of each group progress into the Cup quarter-finals, the second-place team goes into the same stage of the Bowl competition, as well as the third-place into the Shield, and the fourth place team enters into the Trophy. David Gillick
David Gillick (born 9 July 1983, in Dublin) is an Irish international track and field athlete. He began his education in Our Lady's Boys School and attended St Benildus College secondary school in Kilmacud. He studied at Dublin Institute of Technology before moving to Loughborough University in the United Kingdom to train as a full-time athlete with coach Nick Dakin. Gillick specialises in the 400 metres and he won the European Indoor Championship in 2005 and 2007, as well as the Irish National Outdoor Championship in 2006 and 2007. He set the Irish Indoor record of 45.52 seconds in the 2007 final. The time also beat the Irish outdoor record of 45.58 and was within the Olympic 'A' qualifying standard for the 2008 Games.
