Christine Moore (politician)
Christine Moore (born October 21, 1983) is a Canadian politician and nurse who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the riding of Abitibi—Témiscamingue from 2011 to 2019. A member of the New Democratic Party (NDP), she was first elected in the 2011 Canadian federal election, defeating Bloc Québécois MP Marc Lemay, who had held the riding since 2004. She was re-elected during the 2015 federal election. She did not run for re-election in the 2019 federal election. Despite her Anglophone-sounding name, Moore is a Francophone. Early life Moore was born in La Reine, Quebec. Education and experience Moore was trained as a medical technician; she was educated at 52e Medical coy (Army Force) Sherbrooke and graduated in 2005. Moore's Delicatessen, or Moore's Deli, was a restaurant located at 271 E Orange Grove Ave in Burbank, California. It served deli sandwiches, burgers, and other deli fare, along with breakfast foods, soups, and salads, as well as coffee and craft beer. The restaurant, located near Cartoon Network Studios, Nickelodeon Animation Studio, and Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, was known for its back dining room where animators, illustrators, and other artists from the aforementioned studios would draw on the walls. Opened in 2010, Moore's Delicatessen became a location for local studio artists to eat, draw on the walls, and host watch parties. Christine M. "Chris" Scalena, (née Pidzarko; born c. 1953) is a Canadian hall of fame curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was known for much of her competitive career as Chris More. Scalena is a three-time provincial junior champion, winning in 1972, 1973 and 1974. She skipped Manitoba in three Canadian Junior Curling Championships, winning the event in 1972 and 1974. In 1973, she finished 2nd place. In 1974, she defeated British Columbia's Linda Tweedie (Moore) in a tie-break to win the championship. Titles Scalena won four provincial women's titles in her career: 1978, 1979, 1984 and 1989. In 1978, she played third for her twin sister Cathy's rink, and the team won the national championship.
