Christine Jones (police Officer)
Commander Christine Jones QPM (born 1964/1965) is a senior British police officer serving with London's Metropolitan Police Service ("the Met"). As of 2014, she is the Met's senior officer responsible for mental health and for domestic violence; she also the leads the Association of Chief Police Officers' (ACPO) National Mental Health Working Group. Career In 2008, Jones was in charge of an operation in which Mark Saunders was shot dead by police firearms officers after repeatedly firing a shotgun out of a window; after the inquest into Saunders' death, Jones said "the object of the police was to protect the public and obring Mark Saunders to safety. But we are prepared to take appropriate action to make difficult decisions to protect the public". Queen's Police Medal
The King's Police Medal (KPM) is awarded to police in the United Kingdom for gallantry or distinguished service. It was also formerly awarded within the wider British Empire, including Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth countries, most of which now have their own honours systems. The medal was established on 7 July 1909 as the King's Police Medal (KPM), initially inspired by the need to recognise the gallantry of the police officers involved in the Tottenham Outrage. Renamed the King's Police and Fire Services Medal (KPFSM) in 1940, it was replaced on 19 May 1954 by the Queen's Police Medal (QPM), when a separate Queen's Fire Service Medal was also instituted. NHS England, officially the NHS Commissioning Board, is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care.
