Christchurch ( ; mi, Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and the seat of the Canterbury Region. Christchurch lies on the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula on Pegasus Bay. The Avon River / Ōtākaro flows through the centre of the city, with an urban park along its banks. The city's territorial authority population is people, and includes a number of smaller urban areas as well as rural areas. The population of the urban area is people. Christchurch School is a private college-preparatory coed boarding school in Christchurch, Virginia, founded in 1921 by the Episcopal Church Diocese of Virginia. Near the colonial port town of Urbanna, Virginia and located on a 125-acre waterfront campus on the Rappahannock River near the Chesapeake Bay, the school enrolls approximately 225 students, boarding and day, grades 9-12. Day students number approximately 45% of the student body, and are generally evenly divided among boys and girls. Christchurch, Ilkley is a Grade II listed United Reformed and Methodist ecumenical partnership church in Ilkley, North Yorkshire, England. History The foundation stone of the church was laid by James Law, Mayor of Bradford, on 30 May 1868. The architect was James Pigott Pritchett Jr of Darlington and the cost estimated at £5,000 (). The design comprised a church, school and a church-keeper's house in the early decorated style of Gothic architecture. The main doorway was on Riddings Road. Cashmere Technical is an association football club based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was formed in early 2012 from the merger of two of the city's premier teams, Cashmere Wanderers and Woolston Technical. The two clubs had agreed to work together in early 2011, and the 2011 Christchurch earthquake which devastated their home city and resulted in the loss of many playing facilities hastened their merger into a combined side.
