Christ the King College (CKC) is a secondary school founded in 1954 in Bo, Sierra Leone. The school was founded by Mother Marie Louise De Meester in 1954 under the direction of Archbishop Thomas Joseph Brosnahan. The Christ the King College is regarded as one of the most influential schools in West Africa due to its tradition of hardworking teachers and student leadership. Academically, it is considered the leading secondary school in public examinations such as Basic Education Certificate Educations (B.E.C.E) as well as the higher West African Senior Secondary School Examination Council. Bo, Sierra Leone
Bo, also commonly referred to as Bo Town, is the second largest city in Sierra Leone by landscape/geographical location (after Freetown) and the largest city in the Southern Province. Bo is the capital and administrative centre of Bo District. The city of Bo had a population of 149,957 in the 2004 census and had a population of about 233,684 based on 2017 estimate. Joseph Ganda (bishop)
The Most Reverend Joseph Henry Ganda, Archbishop Emeritus, (born 22 March 1932 in Serabu, Bo District, British Sierra Leone) is the retired Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Freetown and Bo. Born in the village Serabu in the Bo district, he was the first in the area to study for the priesthood. He completed seminary training at Bigard Memorial Seminary in Enugu, Nigeria in 1955 returning home a Deacon. On 9 April 1961 he was ordained the first priest of Sierra Leone (just two weeks before its political independence). He was made the first Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Kenema in the Eastern Province of Sierra Leone in 1971. On 23 November 1980 he was installed as the first native-born archbishop of the Archdiocese of Freetown in Sierra Leone. Alhaji Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella (born July 5, 1959) is a Sierra Leonean agricultural economist, politician, and the former United Nations Under-Secretary-General and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All. Charles Francis Kondo Margai (born 19 August 1945) is a Sierra Leonean politician and lawyer, constitutional lawyer who served as Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Sierra Leone in 2018. Margai is a former candidate for the office of President of Sierra Leone and the leader of the People's Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC). Patrick Daniel Koroma, C.S.Sp., MOR (4 May 1950 – 14 December 2018) was the bishop of the Catholic Church in Kenema, Sierra Leone. Early life Koroma was born to Mamie and Bockarie Koroma. He was born and raised in the village of Kenema District, Jenneh, Kandu, Leppiama Chiefdom, Kenema District.
