Charles Walker (British Politician)
Sir Charles Ashley Rupert Walker (born 11 September 1967) is a British politician who served as chair of the House of Commons Procedure Committee from 2012 to 2019. A member of the Conservative Party, he has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Broxbourne in Hertfordshire since 2005. Early life and career Born in Henley-on-Thames in September 1967, Walker was educated at The American School in London, followed by the University of Oregon in the United States, receiving a BSc in Political Science in 1990. Walker pursued a career in marketing and communications and held senior positions within a number of businesses. He was on the board of directors of Blue Arrow. He belonged to the trade union Amicus. Chris Walker (born 12 November 1973) is a Northern Irish former footballer. Walker played as a centre back for Glentoran from 1994 until January 2007. He previously played for First Liverpool, a minor league club based in east Belfast. He is a Glentoran supporter, growing up close to the club's home, The Oval. A fan's favourite, Walker has the club badge tattooed on his thigh. In 2006 Walker had a testimonial match against The New Saints F.C., (previously known as TNS) which Glentoran lost 2–1. Chris Walker is an American musician and producer best known for his 1992 ''Billboard'' Hot 100 top 40 hit "Take Time". Biography Walker was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where he began singing before speaking. He got his start in the church as a member of his family gospel group, ''The Walker Brothers''. Walker plays the bass upside down, similar to one of his guitar heroes, Jimi Hendrix. Walker then moved to New York City, where he became Ornette Coleman's bass guitarist for two and a half years before releasing his debut album. He then toured with Regina Belle, where he soon became musical director. When Belle noticed his voice, she gradually worked his vocals into her act; Walker credits her for teaching him to find his voice. Christian Dickson Walker (born March 28, 1991) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Baltimore Orioles. Amateur career Walker attended Kennedy-Kenrick Catholic High School in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
