Chris O'Young
Chris O'Young (born 3 March 1981) is an Australian rugby union player. His position of choice is scrum-half and he played for the Western Force in the Super 14 competition in 2006. He joined Scottish club the Glasgow Warriors for the 2007–08 Celtic League season. Biography Early career O'Young was educated at St Patrick's College, Strathfield, the same school as former Wallabies Michael Foley and John Ballesty. He represented the college's First XV and on graduating joined the Eastwood club in Sydney's grade competition. Club and Nationals In 2002 and 2003 he represented Australia in sevens. He has represented NSW at U/19 and U/21 levels. In 2004 he joined the West Harbour club, renewing his association with coach Joe Barakat who was his coach at St Patrick's. Scrumhalf (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. Joe Barakat
Joe Barakat (born 23 February 1963) is an Australian rugby union Coach. He has just returned home from two years in Japan as a forwards and defense coach for the NTT Communications Shining Arcs in Tokyo, Japan after an extensive national and international career. Education Barakat graduated from Marist College, Kogarah in 1980 and continued his study at Australian Catholic University. Here he graduated with a Diploma of Education (Physical Education Major), Graduate Diploma in Computer Education and Certificate of Religious Education. Barakat furthered his skill set with studies in Biomechanics, Human Movement and coaching (Level 3 Rugby Coach Certification). Chris Whitaker
Chris Whitaker (born 19 October 1974) is an Australian professional rugby union coach and former international player. he is head coach of the Sydney Rays in Australia's National Rugby Championship, and the interim head coach of Super Rugby side the New South Wales Waratahs, Whitaker began his professional playing career in 1997 as a scrum-half for the Waratahs, where he remained for ten seasons. He also played for the Wallabies, but his Test career there was constrained for many years by the incumbent scrum-half and Australian captain, George Gregan. As such, he got minimal international game time but was in the match-day squad for many a year. He captained the Wallabies in a World Cup Match against Namibia in Adelaide in 2003.
