Chris O'Dwyer
Chris O'Dwyer (born 27 October 1971) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). O'Dwyer was originally from Barooga in the New South Wales Riverina, but played at Assumption College before being recruited by Sydney. He played five games for the Swans in the 1990 AFL season and another three in 1991. After not making a single appearance in 1992, O'Dwyer was drafted by Carlton. In 1993, instead of representing for Carlton, O'Dwyer began playing for Sydney team Eastern Suburbs. Barooga Football Club
The Barooga Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Hawks'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Barooga located in the Riverina district of New South Wales. The club was formed in 1894 and initially played in the Murray Border Football Association in 1894. When the club won the Federal District Football Association premiership against Cobram Football Club in 1897, they were known as "The Boomerangs" and wore a red and white uniform. When Barooga FC re-formed in 1907 they wore an all-blue uniform in the Goulburn Valley Football Association in 1907 and 1908. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Assumption College (often known as ACK, where the K stands for Kilmore) is an Australian Catholic co-educational secondary day and boarding school. The 1990 AFL season was the 94th season of the Australian Football League (AFL) and the first under this name, having been known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The 1991 AFL season was the 95th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), which was known previously as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season ran from 22 March until 28 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top six clubs, an increase from the top five clubs which had contested the finals from 1972-1990. In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season.
