Chris Gorsek
Chris Gorsek (born January 28, 1958 in Portland, Oregon) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate representing District 25 since January 11, 2021. Background Gorsek earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from the University of Oregon, followed by a PhD from Portland State University. He is a teacher at Mt. Hood Community College, and formerly was an officer for the Portland Police Bureau. Oregon's 25th Senate District
District 25 of the Oregon State Senate comprises parts of Multnomah County, including most of Portland's eastern suburbs. It is currently represented by Democrat Laurie Monnes Anderson of Gresham. Oregon Legislative Assembly
The Oregon Legislative Assembly is the state legislature for the U.S. state of Oregon. The Legislative Assembly is bicameral, consisting of an upper and lower house: the Senate, whose 30 members are elected to serve four-year terms; and the House of Representatives, with 60 members elected to two-year terms. There are no term limits for either house in the Legislative Assembly. Each Senate district is composed of exactly two House districts: Senate District 1 contains House Districts 1 and 2, SD 2 contains HD 3 and HD 4, and so on. John Minnis
John Minnis (born December 14, 1953) is a former Republican legislator and police officer in the U.S. state of Oregon. He was a member of both houses of the Oregon Legislative Assembly, representing eastern Multnomah County. He and his wife Karen, who was Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives in the mid-2000s, were at one time considered the "most powerful duo in the Oregon Legislature." From 2004 to 2009 he headed the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. Early life Minnis graduated Madison High School in Portland, Oregon. He and Karen met there, and were married in 1972. They had three children; Karen held several jobs while raising the family, putting John through college.
