Chris Crocker (American Football)
Christopher Alan Crocker (born March 9, 1980) is an American football coach and former safety. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Marshall. Crocker also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, and Minnesota Vikings. Crocker worked with the Atlanta Legends of the now-defunct Alliance of American Football. In June 2019, he was hired as a member of the St. Louis BattleHawks coaching staff in the upcoming XFL. College career Crocker played college football for Marshall. While there he was All-Mid-American Conference first-team in 2001 and second-team in 2002. He was second on the team in tackles as a senior with 126 stops and broke up ten passes. He was third on the Herd with 88 tackles in 2001 and led the team with 10 passes broken up. Safety (American Football Position)
Safety is a position in gridiron football on the defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. While American (11-player) formations generally use two safeties, Canadian (12-player) formations generally have one safety and two defensive halfbacks, a position not used in the American game. As professional and college football have become more focused on the passing game, safeties have become more involved in covering the eligible pass receivers. The XFL is a professional American football minor league consisting of eight teams located across the United States in mid-sized to major markets served by at least one other major professional sports team. Seasons run from February to April, with each team playing a ten-game regular season, and four progressing to the playoffs to crown a season champion. It is headquartered in Arlington, Texas. The league was founded by former WWE executive Vince McMahon in 2018, as a reboot and successor to the league of the same name he founded in 2001. Dennis LaMont Northcutt (born December 22, 1977) is a retired American professional football player who was a wide receiver and punt returner in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. Michael Zimmer (born June 5, 1956) is an American football coach for the Colorado Buffaloes football, Colorado Buffaloes. Prior to this, Zimmer was with Jackson State Tigers football, Jackson State, both college programs being led by Deion Sanders. He previously also served as the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL) from 2014 to 2021. The 2006 Atlanta Falcons season was the franchise's 41st in the National Football League (NFL). The team attempted to improve on their 8–8 record in 2005. Michael Vick became the first quarterback in modern NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards, with 1,039.
