Chinese Basketball Association
The Chinese Basketball Association (), often abbreviated as the CBA, is the first-tier professional men's basketball league in China. The league is commonly known by fans as the CBA, and this acronym is even used in Chinese on a regular basis. The CBA should not be confused with the National Basketball League (NBL), which is a professional minor league. There is also a Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA). A few Chinese players who competed in the CBA in the early stages of their careers — including Wang Zhizhi, Mengke Bateer, Yao Ming, Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue, and Zhou Qi — have also played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Others such as Xue Yuyang and Wang Zhelin were chosen in the draft, but have not played in the NBA. Only a limited number of foreign players are allowed on each CBA team. Yunnan Bulls
Yunnan Honghe Running Bulls () or Yunnan Honghe or Yunnan Running Bulls were a basketball team in the Southern Division of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), based in Mengzi, Honghe, Yunnan (). They won the 2004 Chinese Basketball League (CBL) championship and were promoted to the CBA for the 2004–2005 season, replacing the disqualified Beijing Olympians. In the 2004–2005 season, the Yunnan Running Bulls finished in fourth place in the Southern Division and upset the Northern Division's Liaoning Hunters in the quarter-finals, but lost in the semi-finals to the Jiangsu Dragons. Dontae' Jones
Dontae' Antijuaine Jones (born June 2, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player, formerly of the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Jones played college basketball at Northeast Mississippi Community College where he is the Tigers' all-time leading scorer, rebounder, and shot blocker. His #32 jersey has been retired by the school. After playing two seasons for the Tigers he transferred to Mississippi State University to finish his college career. He was named Most Valuable Player of the 1996 SEC men's basketball tournament after leading Mississippi State to their first SEC Tournament championship by virtue of a win over top-ranked University of Kentucky in the SEC tournament championship game. That same season he led Mississippi State to the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four, picking up a Regional MVP honor along the way. The Shenzhen New Century Liebao Club, also known as Shenzhen Marco Polo or Shenzhen Leopards (previously Shenzhen Aviators) are a Chinese professional basketball team which plays in the Southern Division of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Anthony Myles (born October 16, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. Professional career After going undrafted in the 2004 NBA draft, Myles signed with CB Ciudad de Algeciras of Spain. However, he was released in December 2004. In January 2005, he signed with Banvit B.K. of the Turkish Basketball League for the rest of the season. He played with the Dongguan New Century of the Chinese Basketball Association from 2005 to 2008. He was leading scorer of CBA in the 2005–06 season. Guangdong Hongyuan Southern Tigers () or Guangdong Southern Tigers, also known as Guangdong Dongguan Bank () for sponsorship reasons, are a Chinese professional basketball team owned by the Guangdong Winnerway (Hongyuan) Group. The team is one of the best-performing teams in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). The Tigers have won eleven CBA titles, more than any other team in the league. Zhu Fangyu () is a former professional Chinese basketball player who spent his entire career with the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He was nicknamed the "Rain of Three-Pointers", due to his ability to sink three-pointers at crucial moments during games.
