Chinese Academy Of Engineering
The Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE, ) is the national academy of the People's Republic of China for engineering. It was established in 1994 and is an institution of the State Council of China. The CAE and the Chinese Academy of Sciences are often referred to together as the "Two Academies". Its current president is Li Xiaohong. Since its establishment, CAE has provided consultancy to the State on key programs, planning, guidelines, and policies at the request of government ministries and commissions. In response to requests from central and local government ministries, the academy has mobilized its members to conduct surveys, offer strategic opinions, and make proposals. These projects have been instrumental in enhancing member participation in the State's major decision-making processes. Li Xiaohong
Li Xiaohong ( zh, s=李晓红, t=李曉紅, p=Lǐ Xiǎohóng; born June 1959) is a Chinese engineer and educator, and the current President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). He served as the president of Chongqing University from 2003 to 2010, and was appointed the president of Wuhan University in 2010. In 2011, he was elected as a member of the CAE. As a researcher, Li's main interests are in the field of mining engineering. He made contributions to the development of water jet cutters in China, and established new equations about jet parameters and cutting effection, so the use of abrasive jet could be improved. Zhou Ji (born 1946)
Zhou Ji (; born August 26, 1946) is a Chinese mechanical engineer and politician. He served as China's Minister of Education from 2003 to 2009 and President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering from 2010 to 2018. Prior to that, served briefly as Mayor of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province. Biography Zhou is a native of Shanghai, and attended Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he graduated from in 1970, and received M.E. degree in mechanical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1980. Zhou also acquired a doctorate from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York (PhD, '84, M.S.'81) in the United States. Much of his early career was spent at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, where he eventually rose to become the president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 1997. Today in China, there are more than 8,000 academic journals, of which more than 4,600 can be considered scientific. About 1,400 cover health science (medicine and public health). The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) is an American Nonprofit organization, nonprofit, NGO, non-governmental organization. The Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) is the United Kingdom's national academy of engineering. The Academy was founded in June 1976 as the Fellowship of Engineering with support from Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who became the first senior fellow and remained so until his death. Xu Kuangdi
Xu Kuangdi (; born December 1936) is a Chinese politician and scientist, best known for his term as Mayor of Shanghai from 1995 to 2001. He supervised the transformation of Shanghai during his administration into a center for international investment and trade that helped lead the intensive development of China's economy.
