Chile At The 2016 Summer Olympics
Chile competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. The Chilean Olympic Committee ( es, Comité Olímpico de Chile, COCH), link=no) fielded a team of 42 athletes, 25 men and 17 women, to compete in sixteen sports at the Games. It was the nation's largest delegation sent to the Olympics without any association to the team-based sports for the first time. Nearly 25 percent of the Chilean team competed in the track and field, the largest by sport; there was only a single competitor in archery, equestrian, golf, judo, shooting, taekwondo, and triathlon. Chilean Olympic Committee
The Chilean Olympic Committee (COCh) (:es:Comité Olímpico Chile, Comité Olímpico Chile) is a non-profit private organization composed of all Chilean sports federations who join it and accept its governance through statutes and regulations. It was created on 20 June 1934 and recognised the same year by the International Olympic Committee. The Committee is the organization in charge of coordinating Olympic activities in Chile. Before the COCH was formed, this duty was carried out by the “Liga Deportiva de Chile” (Chilean Sports League). Anton Prylepau
Anton Mikhailavich Prylepau or Prilepov ( be, Антон Міхайлавіч Прылепаў; born 5 February 1984 in Mogilev) is an athlete from Belarus. He competes in archery. Archery At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's Individual
The men's individual archery event was one of 4 archery events at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The medals were presented by Uğur Erdener, IOC member, Turkey and Tom Dielen, Secretary General of the World Archery Federation. Competition format As with the other archery events, the men's individual was a recurve archery event, held under the World Archery-approved 70-meter distance and rules. 64 archers participated. Competition began with a ranking round, in which each archer shot 72 arrows. The scores from the ranking round were used to seed the archers into a single-elimination bracket. The knockout matches used the set system introduced in 2012. Each match consisted of up to 5 sets of 3 arrows per archer. The archer with the best score in each set won the set, earning 2 points. If the score was tied, each archer received 1 point. The first archer to 6 points won the match. World Archery Federation
The World Archery Federation (WA, also and formerly known as FITA from the French ''Fédération Internationale de Tir à l'Arc'') is the governing body of the sport of archery. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It is composed of 156 national federations and other archery associations, and is recognised by the International Olympic Committee. María Fernanda Valdés Paris (born 17 March 1992) is a Chilean weightlifter. She won the silver medal at the 2011 Pan American Games in the 75 kg event and also at the 2015 Pan American Games in the 75 kg event. Natalia Duco Soler (born 31 January 1989 in San Felipe, Valparaíso) is a Chilean shot putter. Duco finished fourth at the 2005 World Youth Championships, twelfth at the 2006 World Junior Championships and won the gold medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships.
