Chile, La Alegría Ya Viene
''Chile, la alegría ya viene'' is a 1988 musical album by various artists released in support of the "No" option during the 1988 Chilean national plebiscite. This album contains the song of the same name, which became the official jingle of the campaign. Production The lyrics of the main song, which were written by Sergio Bravo (writer), Sergio Bravo, were originally written with much darker themes, talking about the murders and disappeared detainees of the military dictatorship, but when Eugenio García, the director of the "No" campaign, gave him the phrase "Chile, joy is coming" as the basis of the song, Bravo began to give meaning to the song with more positive messages. The music was composed by Jaime de Aguirre, who had already composed the music for the song "We are going to win", the eleventh song on the album, in 1987. Chilean music refers to all kinds of music developed in Chile, or by Chileans in other countries, from the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors to the modern day. It also includes the native pre-Columbian music from what is today Chilean territory. Javiera Cereceda Orrego (born 19 May 1968), better known as Javiera Parra, is a Chilean musician and singer born in Santiago. She is the lead singer of rock band '' Javiera y Los Imposibles''. Isabel Parra
Violeta Isabel Cereceda Parra (born 29 September 1939), better known as Isabel Parra, is a famous Chilean singer-songwriter and interpreter of Latin American musical folklore. Early years Parra was born in Chile in 1939 and began her career in music at the age of 13 when she made her first recording with her world-renowned mother, the folklorist Violeta Parra. She has since interpreted and recorded the songs of some of the most famous Latin American folk singers. Career After the 11 September 1973 Chilean coup d'état she lived in exile in Argentina and France for many years. She returned to Chile when democracy returned to her country. Claudio Guzmán (musician)
Claudio Guzmán (August 2, 1927 – July 12, 2008) was a Chilean-American television director, producer, art director, and production designer. Biography Guzmán was born in Rancagua, Chile, in 1927. As a young man, he enrolled at the University of Chile to study architecture, following in the footsteps of his architect father. In 1947, Guzmán had been appointed set designer for the Chilean National Ballet, the youngest ever up to that date. Sources conflict as to when Guzmán immigrated to the United States, but by 1952 he had begun to establish himself as a set designer in Southern California. Guzmán had also enrolled at the University of Southern California in order to continue his architectural studies. His lack of fluency in English deterred him from continuing, choosing instead to work at an assembly line in Anaheim. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music.
