Children and Families Across Borders (CFAB) is a national charity founded (as International Social Service UK) in 1955 that provides advice in resolving international child protection cases. CFAB is the only charity in the UK which provides international child protection social services. It works with local authorities in the UK to help professionals navigate social care systems abroad. It also works with children and families to help understand their situations and ensure that the child’s best interests are protected. It works in cooperation with local authorities, the courts, the police and other agencies. Services include assessments, record checks and welfare visits, among others. The station currently airs a country music, country format branded as ''AVR'', and is owned & operated by the Maritime Broadcasting System. The station also airs a mix of locally produced programming and simulcasting of its sister station CKEN-FM from Kentville, Nova Scotia, Kentville. History The station was launched on November 13, 1945 by Evangeline Broadcasting, and was acquired by Annapolis Valley Radio, which would eventually become the Maritime Broadcasting System, in 1979. The International Social Service (ISS) is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1924. It provides assistance in resolving international child protection cases. The ISS is organised as a global network of over 120 countries which assist children and families confronted with complex social problems as a result of migration. This is in addition to a General Secretariat based in Geneva. The ISS is accredited to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Khaled Abdulaziz Al-Duwaisan (born 15 August 1947) is a Kuwaiti diplomat and the previous ambassador to the United Kingdom, a role he has held since 1993.
