Children's World (charity)
Children's World is a charity based in the UK. It is known internationally (as ''Children's World International''). It was set up by Arabella Churchill in 1981 after the success of the ''Children's World'' area at the Glastonbury Festival. It is registered charity Number 282743. Children's World was created to provide drama participation and creative play and to work creatively in educational settings, providing social and emotional benefits for all children, particularly those with special needs. ''Children's World International'' (Charity Reg. No. 1079546) is the sister charity of ''Children's World'' and was started in 1999 to work with children in the Balkans, in conjunction with Balkan Sunflowers and Save the Children. ''Children's World'' is an India-based illustrated monthly children's magazine in English brought out by the house of Children's Book Trust, New Delhi. It was founded by K. Shankar Pillai, in 1968.The magazine was launched to encourage creative talent in children and provide a training ground for upcoming writers and illustrators enthusiastic to enter the field of children's literature. Children's World is the oldest English-language magazine for kids in India. Children's World (retailer)
Children's World Ltd was a British retail chain. It was established by Boots (company), Boots in 1987 and sold to Storehouse plc, Storehouse in 1996, when the stores were rebranded as Mothercare World. Format At the time, Boots' larger high street stores sold a range of baby products, maternity and children's clothing. However the Children's World stores were a larger "superstore" format typically located in retail parks, which sold a wider range of clothing, shoes, toys, baby products and nursery furniture for children under 10. The stores also included a play area, a hairdresser and a snack bar. Boots was planning to spend £100 million in total on the 30 Children's World stores they intended to open. The first three stores opened in Dudley, Cricklewood and Leicester in the spring of 1987, with Boots hoping to show a profit within two years. Children's World () or Detsky Mir is a Russian children's retailer. Founded in June 1957, as of March 2022, the company had 1125 stores. It is the largest children's goods retailer in Russia and the CIS, with the retail chain in Russia, as well as in Belarus and Kazakhstan. Jabłkowski Brothers () is a Polish trading company, known for its group of high-end department stores in pre-war Poland. The Warsaw store was the very first department store in Poland. The store in Vilnius remained as the city's largest shopping center for over half a century from its opening up to 1974.
