Children's Film Society India (CFSI) was a nodal organization of Government of India that produced children's films and various TV programs in various Indian languages. Established in 1955, CFSI functioned under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and was headquartered in Mumbai. In March 2022, it was merged with National Film Development Corporation. History The concept of an exclusive cinema for India's children was mooted by its first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, and Children's Film Society, India (CFSI) was founded on 11 May 1955 with Hriday Nath Kunzru as its first president. Pedder Road
Gopalrao Deshmukh Marg is an arterial road in the city of Mumbai, India, passing through the affluent Cumballa Hill neighbourhood. The road is named after a social activist and first Mayor of Bombay (present-day Mumbai) after India's Independence, Dr. Gopalrao Deshmukh. Details It is said to be resting on what was first known as Padam Hill. Its former name, Pedder Road, was named after Mr. W. G. Pedder, Municipal Commissioner (1879) who was in the Bombay Civil Service, 1855–1879, and on his retirement was appointed Secretary to the Revenue and Commerce Department at the India Office. Even today as with a very large number of Mumbai's roads it is commonly referred to by its former name (usually incorrectly spelled as Peddar). Charandas Chor
Charandas Chor (''Charandas the Thief'') is a 1975 children's film by noted director Shyam Benegal, based on the famous play by Habib Tanvir, which itself was an adaptation of a classical Rajasthani folktale by Vijaydan Detha. The lyrics of the film were also by Habib Tanvir. The film starred Smita Patil, Lalu Ram, Madanlal and Habib Tanvir. Plot The film is derived from a classic folk tale, originally narrated by Vijaydan Detha, and interpreted as folk play by Habib Tanvir. ''Gattu'' is a 2012 Indian film written by K.D. Satyam and directed by Rajan Khosa. The film stars Mohammad Samad, Naresh Kumar, Zoya Arshad, Harshit Kaushik, Sarvasva Singh Pundir, and Jayanta Das. ''Putaani Party'' (Kannada: ಪುಟಾಣಿ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ, English: The Kid Gang) is a 2009 Kannada language feature film.
