Chief Of The General Staff (Sweden)
The Chief of the General Staff ( sv, Chefen för generalstaben, CGst, or ''Generalstabschef'') was from 1873 to 1937 the second most senior member of the Swedish Army (after the King of Sweden) and headed the General Staff. The position was held by a senior member of the Swedish Army. In 1937, the position was abolished and the position of Chief of the Defence Staff was established. The Ministry of Defence ( sv, Försvarsdepartementet) is a Swedish government ministry responsible for the national defence policy. The Ministry of Defence has existed in its present form since 1 July 1920. It has been located at its present premises at Jakobsgatan 9 at Gustaf Adolfs torg, Stockholm, since 1966. The ministry has a staff of 131 (2020): political advisers, officials, assistants, clerical officers, military advisers in military issues, etc. The ministry is headed by the Minister of Defence, currently Pål Jonson ( M). Bo Boustedt
Lieutenant General Bo Ivar Boustedt (22 August 1868 – 24 October 1939) was a Swedish Army officer. Boustedt's senior commands include regimental commander of Västernorrland Regiment and Uppland Infantry Regiment, chief of the Military Office of the Land Defence, commanding officer of the Eastern Army Division, Commandant General of Stockholm Garrison and Chief of the General Staff. Early life Boustedt was born on 22 August 1868 in Fuxerna Parish, Älvsborg County, Sweden, to captain Axel Boustedt and his wife Amanda Bergius. General Carl Gustaf Valdemar Hammarskjöld (22 April 1865 – 27 February 1940) was a Swedish Army officer and conservative politician. Early life Hammarskjöld was born on 22 April 1865 at Väderum farm in Tuna Parish, Vimmerby Municipality, Sweden, the son of lieutenant Knut Hammarskjöld (1818–1891) and Wilhelmina ''Mimmi'' (née Cöster) (1832–1901). General Lars Herman Tingsten (13 July 1857 – 10 September 1937) was a Swedish Army officer. He was Minister for War from 1905 to 1907 and Chief of the General Staff from 1919 to 1922. Early life Tingsten was born on 13 July 1857 in Ingatorp, Sweden, the son of sergeant Lars Magnus Tingsten and his wife Maria Charlotta (née Durling). He was the uncle of Herbert Tingsten. Oscar II (Oscar Fredrik; 21 January 1829 – 8 December 1907) was King of Sweden from 1872 until his death in 1907 and King of Norway from 1872 to 1905.
