The Chief of the General Staff of the Kazakh Armed Forces ( kk, Қазақстан Қарулы Күштері Бас штабының бастығы, Qazaqstan Qarýly Kúshteri Bas shtabynyń bastyǵy; russian: Начальник Генерального штаба Вооруженных сил Казахстана) is the professional head of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He/She is the highest-ranking officer in the armed forces. The Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan ( kk, Қазақстан Республикасының Қарулы Күштері, , russian: Вооружённые силы Республики Казахстан) is the unified armed forces of Kazakhstan. It consists of three branches (Ground Forces, Air Defense Forces, Naval Forces) as well as four independent formations ( Air Assault Forces, Special Forces, Rocket and Artillery Forces, Territorial Troops). The National Guard, Civil Defense, Border Service and the State Security Service serve as militarized affiliates of the armed forces. The national defence policy aims are based on the Constitution of Kazakhstan. Marat Khusainov
Marat Rakhimovich Khusainov (born May 20, 1967) is a Kazakh military general and the current first deputy minister of defence of Kazakhstan and chief of general staff in the Kazakh Armed Forces. Prior to his appointment to the ministry of defence in September 2021, he served as commander-in-chief of the Land Forces. Biography Khusainov was born in Karaganda, Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. He graduated from the 2nd platoon of the 9th company and Chelyabinsk Higher Tank Command School in 1988. Saken Adilkhanuly Zhasuzakov ( kk, Сәкен Әділханұлы Жасұзақов, ''Säken Ädılhanūly Jasūzaqov'', ; born 27 October 1957) was a Kazakh politician and Colonel General in the Kazakh Ground Forces.
