Chicago Cubs
The Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team based in Chicago. The Cubs compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as part of the National League (NL) Central division. The club plays its home games at Wrigley Field, which is located on Chicago's North Side. The Cubs are one of two major league teams based in Chicago; the other, the Chicago White Sox, is a member of the American League (AL) Central division. Mike Adams (outfielder)
Robert Michael Adams (born July 24, 1948) is an American former backup outfielder in Major League Baseball who played from through for the Minnesota Twins, Chicago Cubs and Oakland Athletics. Adams batted and threw right-handed. Coming from a baseball family, Adams is the son of second baseman Bobby Adams and nephew of first baseman Dick Adams. Adams reached the majors in 1972 with the Minnesota Twins, spending two years with them before moving to the Cubs and Athletics. In 1973 with Minnesota, Adams posted career-highs in games played (55), hits (14), runs (21), home runs (3) and RBI (six). In parts of five seasons, Adams was a .195 hitter (23-for-118) with a .375 OBP, three home runs and nine RBI in 100 games. Matthew Alexander (born January 30, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana) is a retired Major League baseball player. He was a utility player for the Chicago Cubs 1973–1974, Oakland Athletics 1975–1977 and Pittsburgh Pirates 1978–1981. He holds the record for most appearances as a pinch runner in MLB history. Grover Cleveland Alexander
Grover Cleveland Alexander (February 26, 1887 – November 4, 1950), nicknamed "Old Pete", was an American Major League Baseball pitcher. He played from 1911 through 1930 for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals. He was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1938. Early life Alexander was born in Elba, Nebraska in the first term of President Grover Cleveland and was one of 13 children. Alexander played semi-professional baseball in his youth, signing his first professional contract at age 20 in 1907 for $50 per month ($ in current dollar terms). Vic Aldridge
Victor Aldridge (October 25, 1893 – April 17, 1973), nicknamed the "Hoosier Schoolmaster", was an American right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Giants, and was known to be an excellent curveball pitcher. Before his playing career he was a schoolmaster, hence his nickname. His most significant actions as a player occurred during the 1925 World Series, where Aldridge completed and won games two and five, only to have the most disastrous first inning in the seventh game of the World Series ever. After his retirement from baseball, he served as a state senator in the Indiana General Assembly. Dale Leonard Alderson (March 9, 1918 – February 12, 1982) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball who played from 1943 through 1944 for the Chicago Cubs. Listed at , , Alderson batted and threw right-handed. A native of Belden, Nebraska and graduate of Upper Iowa University, Alderson was one of many major leaguers who saw his baseball career interrupted by a military stint during World War II. James Charles Adduci (born May 15, 1985) is a Canadian–born American professional baseball coach and former outfielder and first baseman who is the assistant hitting coach and game planning coach for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB).
