Chengdu East or Chengdudong railway station () is a railway station in Chenghua District, Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, serving the Chengdu–Chongqing intercity railway, the Chengdu–Guiyang high-speed railway, the Dazhou–Chengdu railway and Xi'an–Chengdu high-speed railway. It is connected to Chengdu Metro Line 2 and Line 7. History Construction began on December 29, 2008. Station structure Layout Chengdu East Railway Station is divided into two spaces, the station building and outdoor squares, with a total area of about 68 hectares, the station building itself has an area of 108,000 square meters. The main building of the station is divided into five main levels, including an elevated Waiting Hall level (with mezzanine eating areas and shopping), Platform Level (Ground Level), Arrivals Level and two levels of Chengdu Metro lines. Chengdu–Chongqing Intercity Railway
The Chengdu–Chongqing intercity railway () is a long high-speed railway that connects the cities of Chengdu (Sichuan) and Chongqing in southwestern China, with a maximum speed of . The route passes through most of the same cities that the older Chengdu–Chongqing Railway does, but is significantly shorter due to the greater use of elevated sections and tunnels. The line includes four major elevated sections and two tunnels. History Construction on the Chongqing section began on 22 March 2010 while work on the Sichuan section began on 11 November. The final tunnel achieved breakthrough on 16 December 2013 and a single track line was expected to open in first half of 2014. Hangzhou railway station ( or ) is located in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province of China. It is affiliated to Shanghai Railway Bureau, and is also the terminal of the Shanghai–Hangzhou Railway. The station is ranked first-class. History The station was first built in 1906 as a stop along the Jiang-Shu railway (), and at that time was called "Qing Tai Men Station" (). Chongqing North Railway Station
Chongqing North railway station is a railway station located in Yubei District, Chongqing, China. It is served by the Yuhuai Railway, Suining–Chongqing Railway and Yuli Railway, and operated by the China Railway Chengdu Group. Name Prior to the construction of this station at its present site, Shapingba railway station was known as Chongqing North railway station. It was subsequently renamed to avoid confusion and to better reflect the geographic nature of both stations. Structure This station consists of two separate departure halls; the eastern hall is for long-distance services and the western hall is for high-speed CRH trains. Arrivals are through a common underground hall. Service at this station is separated into North and South Courses. The South Course handles long-distance trains to many parts of China. Shu (state)
Shu () was an ancient state in what is now Sichuan Province. It was based on the Chengdu Plain, in the western Sichuan basin with some extension northeast to the upper Han River valley. To the east was the Ba tribal confederation. Further east down the Han and Yangtze rivers was the State of Chu. To the north over the Qinling Mountains was the State of Qin. To the west and south were tribal peoples of little military power. This independent Shu state was conquered by the state of Qin in 316 BCE. Recent archaeological discoveries at Sanxingdui and Jinsha thought to be sites of Shu culture indicate the presence of a unique civilization in this region before the Qin conquest.
