Chen Wei (food Scientist)
Chen Wei (; born May 1966) is a Chinese food scientist currently serving as vice-president of Jiangnan University. Biography Chen was born in May 1966 in Jiangdu County, Jiangsu. He earned a bachelor's degree in 1988, a master's degree in 1995, and a doctor's degree in 2003, all from Jiangnan University. After graduation, he taught at the university, where he was promoted to associate professor in 2003 and to full professor in 2006. He was a visiting scholar at Wake Forest University in 2007 and the University of California in 2014. Chen () () is a common Chinese-language surname and one of the most common surnames in Asia. It is the most common surname in Taiwan (2010) and Singapore (2000). Chen Jian (engineer)
Chen Jian (born 1 May 1962) is a Chinese engineer and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, formerly served as president of Jiangnan University from 2005 to 2020. Biography Chen was born in Wuxi County, Jiangsu, on 1 May 1962. In 1979, he attended Tsinghua University, graduating in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering. He went on to receive his master's degree in 1986 and doctor's degree in 1990 at Wuxi Institute of Light Industry (now Jiangnan University) both in fermentation engineering. Since March 1990, he pursued advanced studies at Osaka University and Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan and Inha University in South Korea. Jiangdu (), historically known as Kiangtu is one of three districts of Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, China. The district spans an area of , and as of November 1, 2020, has 926,577 inhabitants.
