The Chembur causeway is a causeway in Bombay, India India, officially the Republic of India (Hindi: ), is a country in South Asia. It is {{convert, 3105, ft, m long, from twenty-two to twenty-four feet wide, and from five to twelve feet high. The causeway is used at all seasons, the chief traffic, besides passengers, being grass, rice, fruit, and vegetables on their way to Bombay. Causeway
A causeway is a track, road or railway on the upper point of an embankment across "a low, or wet place, or piece of water". It can be constructed of earth, masonry, wood, or concrete. One of the earliest known wooden causeways is the Sweet Track in the Somerset Levels, England, which dates from the Neolithic age.
