Chelsea Young Player Of The Year
The Chelsea Player of the Year award is an official award given by Chelsea F.C., Chelsea Football Club, to award the player who has most contributed to the team's success and achievements in that year. The award is given based on votes by Chelsea fans on the club's website. The inaugural award was handed to Peter Bonetti in 1967 and it has been presented every season since. The award has been given to 41 different players over the course of 56 seasons, with 12 players being awarded on more than one occasion. Of these players, only Eden Hazard has won the award four times. In 1981, Yugoslavia national football team, Yugoslavians international Petar Borota became the first Chelsea player from outside the United Kingdom to win the award. Ricardo Alberto Silveira de Carvalho (; born 18 May 1978) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Dennis Frank Wise (born 16 December 1966) is an English former professional football player and manager who played as a central midfielder. He is the president of Serie B side Como 1907. He is best known for having spent the majority of his career at Chelsea, from 1990 to 2001. Patrick Kevin Francis Michael Nevin (born 6 September 1963) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a winger. In a 20-year career, he appeared for Clyde, Chelsea, Everton, Tranmere Rovers, Kilmarnock and Motherwell.
