Charming Thought
Charming Thought (foaled 24 January 2012) is a British Thoroughbred racehorse. He showed his best form as a two-year-old in 2014. After finishing second on his debut he won two minor races and then recorded a 22/1 upset victory in the Middle Park Stakes. He then suffered from injury problems and did not run again until 2016 when he finished unplaced in three starts. Background Charming Thought is a bay horse with a small white star bred in England by the Merry Fox Stud. As a yearling in October 2013 he was offered for sale at Tattersalls and bought for 625,000 guineas by John Ferguson Bloodstock, actin on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin organisation. Oasis Dream
Oasis Dream (foaled 30 March 2000) is retired thoroughbred racehorse and active sire who was bred and trained in the United Kingdom. He was the highest-rated two-year-old in the 2002 European flat racing season and won the Cartier Racing Award for European Champion Sprinter in 2003. Background Oasis Dream, a bay horse with a white star standing 15.3 hands high, was bred by his owner's Juddmonte Farm stud. He was sired by Green Desert out of the Dancing Brave mare Hope. Green Desert finished second to Dancing Brave in the 2000 Guineas and became a leading sprinter, winning the July Cup. Nunthorpe Stakes
The Nunthorpe Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged two years or older. It is run at York over a distance of 5 furlongs (1,006 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in August. History The event is named after Nunthorpe, an area of York. The first version, a low-grade selling race, was established in 1903. The present version began in 1922, and the inaugural running was won by Two Step. The race was sponsored by William Hill from 1976 to 1989, and during this period it was known as the William Hill Sprint Championship. It has had several different sponsors since then, and the latest is Coolmore Stud, which started supporting the event in 2007. White Muzzle
White Muzzle (21 March 1990 – February 2017) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. After failing to win as a juvenile in 1992 he racked up five consecutive wins in the following spring including the Derby Italiano and the Churchill Stakes. Later that year he proved himself one of the best three-year-olds of his generation in Europe as he finished second to older horses in both the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. As a four-year-old in 1994 he again ran second in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and won the Grand Prix de Deauville. Almutawakel
Almutawakel (foaled in 1995 in Great Britain, died in 2007) was a British thoroughbred racehorse sired by Machiavellian and the Irish stakes-winning Green Desert mare, Elfaslah. Racing career Almutawakel's most prominent victory came in the 1999 Dubai World Cup. Going into the race at 44-1 and considered a heavy underdog, Almutawakel held his own and, with jockey Richard Hills at the helm, won the race by ¾ lengths. He beat out several prominent horses, such as Malek, Silver Charm, Daylami and Victory Gallop, winning the $3 million first place prize in the process. At the time, it was the first Dubai World Cup win for Sheikh Hamdan, who has since produced another winner, Invasor. He was also the first of seven wins at the Dubai World Cup for Godolphin Racing. St Nicholas Abbey (horse)
St Nicholas Abbey (13 April 2007 – 14 January 2014) was an Irish thoroughbred racehorse. He was the leading European two-year-old of 2009 and recovered from a disappointing three-year-old season to win the Coronation Cup and the Breeders' Cup Turf in 2011. He won the Coronation Cup for a second time in 2012 and the Dubai Sheema Classic in 2013. In June 2013 he won the Coronation Cup for an unprecedented third time. He was briefly the biggest money-winning racehorse trained in Europe. His career was ended prematurely due to injury in July 2013, and he was euthanized on 14 January 2014 while undergoing colic surgery. Ballingarry (13 April 1999 – 16 April 2020) was a Thoroughbred racehorse who competed for owners in Europe and North America. Bred and raced by the principals of Coolmore Stud, he was named for the village of Ballingarry in the southern part of County Tipperary in Ireland. In October 2002, he was sold to an American racing partnership led by Sidney L. Port. Ballingarry's most important wins came at age two in the Group One Critérium de Saint-Cloud at Saint-Cloud Racecourse in France and at age three in the Grade 1 Canadian International Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto. Starborough
Starborough (15 May 1994 – 24 December 2006) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He usually led from the start of his races and was best at distances of around one mile. Bred and owned by Sheikh Mohammed and trained in England by David Loder he showed promising form as a two-year-old in 1996, winning on his debut and finishing third and fourth against better opposition in his other two races. In the following year he finished fourth in the 2000 Guineas before recording Group One victories in the Prix Jean Prat and the St James's Palace Stakes, beating a particularly strong field in the latter race. Later that summer he finished second in the Sussex Stakes and fourth in the Prix Jacques Le Marois. Aristotle (also known as Our Aristotle, foaled 18 February 1997) was an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He showed great promise as a two-year-old in 1999, winning a maiden race on his debut and then taking the Group One Racing Post Trophy. In an abbreviated second season he was disqualified after winning the Prix Greffulhe and ran poorly when strongly fancied for The Derby. He was then sold and exported to Singapore where he won twice and finished second in the Singapore Derby. He retired with a record of four wins from twelve starts in five different countries. As a two-year-old he showed very good form, winning the Gimcrack Stakes and finishing third in both the July Stakes and the Middle Park Stakes. Power is a British-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse. He won the Coventry Stakes and the National Stakes as a two-year-old in 2011. In May 2012 he won the Irish 2000 Guineas.
