Charlie Greene (baseball)
Charles Patrick Greene (born January 23, 1971) is an American former professional baseball catcher. Greene played in Major League Baseball (MLB) with four different teams from 1996 in baseball, 1996 through 2000 in baseball, 2000. Career Charlie attended Killian Senior High School in Miami, Florida, from 1986 to 1989. He was drafted in the 11th round by the Seattle Mariners as a senior, but decided to play for his father, Dr. Charles P. Greene, who coached at Miami-Dade College from 1968 to 1996. In 1990, Greene played collegiate summer baseball with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Greene entered the MLB in 1996 with the New York Mets, playing for them one year before moving to the Baltimore Orioles (1997–98), Milwaukee Brewers (1999) and Toronto Blue Jays (2000). Charlie Greene is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the North American Soccer League, American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League and American Indoor Soccer Association. Professional In 1980, Greene played for the Miami Americans of the American Soccer League. He moved up to the California Surf of the first division North American Soccer League in late 1980. He played the 1980–81 indoor season and the 1981 outdoor season with the Surf. In the fall of 1981, Greene moved indoors with the New Jersey Rockets of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Charlie Greene (athlete)
Charles Edward "Charlie" Greene (March 21, 1945 – March 14, 2022) was an American track and field sprinter and winner of the gold medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Greene was considered a certain candidate for the 1964 Olympic team, but he suffered a muscle pull which held him to a sixth-place finish at the Olympic Trials. Greene won the 100-yard dash for O'Dea High School in Seattle in 1962 and 1963 and also the 220-yard dash in 1963. Greene won the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) championships in the 100-yard dash in 1966 and in the 100-meter dash in 1968. At the 1968 AAU Championships, Greene tied the 100 m world record twice. First in the heats, he equaled the world record of 10.0 seconds.
