Charlie Brown Jr. (demo Tape)
''Charlie Brown Jr.'' is the first demo tape by eponymous Brazilian rock band Charlie Brown Jr., self-released in 1995. With songs in English and a heavier sonority than what the band would develop in future outputs, inspired by acts such as Sublime, Bad Brains and Suicidal Tendencies, the demo was a massive success in the underground scene of Santos. Copies of it were handed out as a bonus on some issues of magazine ''Tribo Skate'' in the mid-1990s. The demo was originally recorded in 1994; according to guitarist Marcão in a 2017 interview, to finance its recording bassist Champignon had to pawn one of his bass guitars, and vocalist Chorão a television set. Champignon then approached record producer Tadeu Patolla with a copy of the demo, so he could evaluate their work; as a result, Patolla convinced Chorão to sing in Portuguese and to "experiment" more with other genres such as hip hop, reggae and ska, thus developing the eclectic sonority Charlie Brown Jr. would b ... Renato Peres Barrio (born March 5, 1965), better known by his stage name Renato Pelado, is a Brazilian drummer and DJ best known for being a founding member of the famous alternative rock band Charlie Brown Jr. and for his brief passage in the influential black/ death metal group Vulcano. Biography Renato Peres Barrio was born in Santos, São Paulo on March 5, 1965. He learned how to play the drums inspired by one of his greatest idols, Neil Peart, and began his musical career in 1980, subsequently playing in hardcore punk band Last Joker, where he met his future Charlie Brown Jr. bandmate Marcão. Thiago Raphael Castanho (born February 8, 1975) is a Brazilian guitarist, record producer, painter and sculptor, best known for being a founding member of alternative rock bands Charlie Brown Jr., Aliados, A Banca and O Legado, and for his subsequent work with Ira! and Capital Inicial. Biography Thiago Raphael Castanho was born in Santos, São Paulo on February 8, 1975, and would learn how to play the guitar with 13 years old, encouraged by a sister. ''Transpiração ContÃnua Prolongada'' (Portuguese for "''Prolonged Continuous Sweating''") is the debut album by Brazilian alternative rock band Charlie Brown Jr., released on June 16, 1997 through Virgin Records. It was one of the band's many releases to be produced by the duo Rick Bonadio and Tadeu Patolla, and the latter's own band, Lagoa, made a guest appearance on the track "Escalas Tropicais" in one of their final credited works prior to their break-up. Other guest musicians include rappers P.MC and DJ Deco Murphy, famous for their partnership and their later work on hip hop group Jigaboo. According to the band's guitarist, Marcão, in a 2017 interview following the album's 20th anniversary, its name was an allusion to all the hard work they endured until they were able to record it. Ricardo "Rick" Bonadio (born June 21, 1969) is a Brazilian music producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer, owner of Midas Studio and record companies Arsenal Music and Midas Music. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora.
