Charlie Bell (born 14 November 1958) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League for Middlesbrough and Mansfield Town. Career Born in Middlesbrough, Bell was an apprentice at his hometown club, signing for them as a senior player in 1977. However, after only ten league appearances in four years, he signed for Mansfield Town. Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. Mansfield is a market town and the administrative centre of Mansfield District in Nottinghamshire, England. It is the largest town in the wider Mansfield Urban Area (followed by Sutton-in-Ashfield). The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world.
