Charles Jones (basketball, Born 1957)
Charles "Gadget" Jones (born April 3, 1957) is a retired American professional basketball player. Although a raw offensive player, he possessed shot-blocking ability. Basketball career A 6'9" forward–center from Albany State University, Jones was selected 165th overall in the 1979 NBA draft by the Phoenix Suns, arriving in the league four years later. He played in 15 seasons with five teams: the Philadelphia 76ers, the Chicago Bulls, the Washington Bullets, the Detroit Pistons and the Houston Rockets. Jones won an NBA Championship with the Rockets in 1995, appearing in 19 out of 22 postseason contests. He retired three seasons later with career averages of 2.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. McGehee, Arkansas
McGehee is a city in Desha County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 4,219 at the 2010 census. 1995 NBA Finals
The 1995 NBA Finals was the championship round of the 1994–95 National Basketball Association (NBA) season. The series pitted the Eastern Conference champion Orlando Magic against the defending NBA champion and Western Conference champion Houston Rockets. The pre-series hype and buildup of the Finals was centered on the meeting of the two centers opposing each other: Shaquille O'Neal of the Magic and Hakeem Olajuwon of the Rockets. The 1995 NBA playoffs was the postseason tournament of the National Basketball Association's 1994–95 season. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. Blocked Shot
In basketball, a block or blocked shot occurs when a defensive player legally deflects a field goal attempt from an offensive player to prevent a score. The defender is not allowed to make contact with the offensive player's hand (unless the defender is also in contact with the ball) or a '' foul'' is called. In order to be legal, the block must occur while the shot is traveling upward or at its apex. A deflected field goal that is made does not count as a blocked shot and simply counts as a successful field goal attempt for shooter plus the points awarded to the shooting team. For the shooter, a blocked shot is counted as a missed field goal attempt. Also, on a shooting foul, a blocked shot cannot be awarded or counted, even if the player who deflected the field goal attempt is different from the player who committed the foul.
