Low-power broadcasting is broadcasting by a broadcast station at a low transmitter power output to a smaller service area than "full power" stations within the same region. It is often distinguished from "micropower broadcasting" (more commonly " microbroadcasting") and broadcast translators. LPAM, LPFM and LPTV are in various levels of use across the world, varying widely based on the laws and their enforcement. Canada Radio communications in Canada are regulated by the Radio Communications and Broadcasting Regulatory Branch, a branch of Industry Canada, in conjunction with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Interested parties must apply for both a certificate from Industry Canada and a license from CRTC in order to operate a radio station. KUED (channel 7), branded on-air as PBS Utah, is a PBS member television station in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. The station is owned by the University of Utah, and has studios at the Eccles Broadcast Center on Wasatch Drive in the northeastern section of Salt Lake City; its transmitter is located on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. KUED has a large network of broadcast translators that extend its over-the-air coverage throughout Utah. WEMT (channel 39) is a television station licensed to Greeneville, Tennessee, United States, serving as the Fox affiliate for the Tri-Cities area. It is owned by Cunningham Broadcasting, which maintains a local marketing agreement (LMA) with Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of Bristol, Virginia–licensed dual NBC/ CW affiliate WCYB-TV (channel 5), for the provision of certain services. However, Sinclair effectively owns WEMT as the majority of Cunningham's stock is owned by the family of deceased group founder Julian Smith. Both stations share studios on Lee Street on the Virginia side of Bristol (straddling the Virginia–Tennessee line), while WEMT's transmitter is located at Rye Patch Knob on Holston Mountain in the Cherokee National Forest. KELM-LP
KELM-LP, UHF analog channel 43, was a low-powered Mexicanal- affiliated television station licensed to Reno, Nevada, United States. KELM-LP, the Mexicanal affiliate and its sister station, KRRI-LP, the Azteca America affiliate, both broadcast in Spanish, are housed in a glass-walled facility at the Meadowood Mall in south Reno. History On or around October 2008, the bankruptcy court sold KELM-LP to Ngensolutions LLC. Ngensolutions entered into negotiations with Mexicanal for an affiliation agreement for the Reno DMA. KELM-LP commenced broadcasting as a Mexicanal affiliate during September 2010 and started local production and insertion during October 2010 from its facilities at Meadowood Mall. Krypton enterprises took over afterwards. The station went off the air in June 2014. The FCC cancelled its license on June 17, 2015.

KDUO-LP, UHF analog channel 43, was a low-powered ShopHQ- affiliated television station licensed to Palm Desert, California, United States. Founded on February 19, 2008, the station was owned by the Louis Martinez Family Group. Since the channel's inception, it had been affiliated with the MTV Tr3́s network (now simply known as Tr3́s since July 2010). As of late 2015, KDUO-LP was no longer a Tr3s affiliate and KBLM-LP in Los Angeles had plans to turn KDUO-LP of Palm Springs, California into a translator of KPOM-LP.
