Change (Killing Joke Song)
"Change" is a song by English post-punk band Killing Joke that appeared on the US release of Killing Joke (1980 album), their 1980 self-titled debut album. The song bears a resemblance to the War (American band), War song "Me and Baby Brother", which Killing Joke have acknowledged. Release A version of the song recorded at a Peel session, John Peel session on 5 March 1980 was issued that month as a limited-edition promotional single, available at gigs and without advertisement from the band's Malicious Damage label. The B-side was a version of "Tomorrow's World" (originally on Killing Joke's debut album) recorded at the same Peel session. These two versions later appeared on the 2008 compilation ''The Peel Sessions 1979–1981''. The song then appeared on the US release of the band's October 1980 debut album. Killing Joke are an English rock music, rock band from Notting Hill, London, England, formed in 1979 by Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards), Paul Ferguson (drums), Geordie Walker (guitar) and Youth (musician), Youth (bass). Their first album, ''Killing Joke (1980 album), Killing Joke'', was released in 1980. Spiral Tribe
Spiral Tribe is an arts collective and free party sound system formed in 1990. It organised free parties, festivals and raves in the UK and later Europe in the 1990s. Spiral Tribe was involved in the Castlemorton Common Festival and members have released music on labels such as Network 23 and Big Life Records. The sound system combined pagan beliefs with New Age traveller culture and rave to form teknivals. After a hiatus, the collective reformed as SP23 in 2011 and continues to organise events. Martin Glover
Martin Glover (born 27 December 1960), better known by his stage name Youth, is a British record producer and musician, best known as a founding member and bassist of the rock band Killing Joke. He is also a member of the Fireman, along with Paul McCartney. Early career Martin Glover was born on 27 December 1960 in Slough, at that point part of Buckinghamshire, England. He attended Kingham Hill School, an independent private school in Oxfordshire, where he met Alex Paterson, who would become a roadie for Glover's band Killing Joke, and later founder of The Orb. John Robert Parker Ravenscroft (30 August 1939 – 25 October 2004), known professionally as John Peel, was an English disc jockey (DJ) and radio presenter. He was the longest-serving of the original BBC Radio 1 DJs, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004. Peel was one of the first broadcasters to play psychedelic rock and progressive rock records on British radio.
