Chad Girodo
Chad Alan Girodo (born February 6, 1991) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, who drafted him in 2013. Girodo played in the Blue Jays' minor league organization for parts of four seasons before being called up to the Major Leagues for the first time on April 22, 2016. High school & college Girodo was a four-year letter winner at Hartselle High School, playing mostly as a starting pitcher. In his senior year, he pitched to a 17–1 win–loss record and 0.47 earned run average (ERA) with 136 strikeouts in 105 innings. Girodo then attended Mississippi State University, where he made 47 appearances over three years with the Bulldogs, mostly in relief. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Tulsa Drillers are a minor league baseball team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The team, which plays in the Texas League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers major-league club. Brett Aarion Cecil (born July 2, 1986) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals. Cecil was drafted as the 38th overall pick in the 2007 MLB draft by the Blue Jays. He pitched for DeMatha Catholic High School and the Maryland Terrapins of the University of Maryland, College Park. The Arizona Fall League (AFL) is an off-season sports league owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) which operates during the autumn in Arizona, United States, at six different baseball complexes. Arizona Fall League rosters are filled by many of the top prospects in Minor League Baseball (MiLB) who are assigned by their parent clubs. The Salt River Rafters are a baseball team that plays in the East Division of the Arizona Fall League. They play their home games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick near Scottsdale, Arizona. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two sports league, leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per each Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are a Minor League Baseball team based in Manchester, New Hampshire.
