Cerapachys Manni
''Cerapachys'' (common names include "raider ant" and "ant-raiding ant") is a genus of ants in the subfamily Dorylinae. Species are mainly myrmecophagous ants which raid the nests of other ants for prey. The genus is distributed widely throughout the Indomalayan region. The genus was revised by BoroWiec (2016) who split a number of previously synonymized genera out of ''Cerapachys'', leaving only 5 species in the genus. Cerapachys Biroi
''Ooceraea biroi'', the clonal raider ant, is a queenless clonal ant in the genus ''Ooceraea'' (recently transferred from the genus ''Cerapachys''). Native to the Asian mainland, this species has become invasive on tropical and subtropical islands throughout the world. Unlike most ants, which have reproductive queens and mostly nonreproductive workers, all individuals in a ''O. biroi'' colony reproduce clonally via thelytokous parthenogenesis. Like most dorylines, ''O. biroi'' are obligate myrmecophages and raid nests of other ant species to feed on the brood. Description Clonal raider ants are small, about 2 mm long, but relatively stocky. Like many former cerapachyines, ''O. biroi'' is heavily armored, with the short, thick antennae which give the old subfamily its name (from Greek, ''keras''/κέρας, meaning horn and ''pachys''/παχυς, meaning thick). The other defining characteristic of the former Cerapachyinae, a row of teeth over the pygidium (last visible ab ...

''Cerapachys sulcinodis'' is a South and South-East Asian species of Dorlyine ant first described by Emery in 1889. Colonies comprise up to 2000 workers. Foraging ecology ''C. sulcinodis'' is a non-army ant Doryline. Workers are diurnal and forage in groups of up to 100. They attack colonies of ants and also feed on other arthropods. Foraging, and colony productivity is high in the rainy season and pauses for the dry season. References Dorylinae Insects described in 1889 {{Ant-stub ...
