Centre For Israel And Jewish Affairs
The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA; ) is a Zionist and Jewish advocacy organization and an agency of the Jewish Federations of Canada. It was founded in 2004 as the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy (CCIJA) and headquartered in the district of North York within Toronto, Ontario. History In 2011, CIJA assumed its current name following an 18-month restructuring process in which the functions of the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Canada-Israel Committee, the Quebec-Israel Committee, and the National Jewish Campus Life and University Outreach Committee were consolidated. The group's Chief Executive Officer was Hershell Ezrin, who served in that position until his retirement at the end of 2010. Shimon Fogel, former CEO of the Canada-Israel Committee, now serves as CEO. Independent Jewish Voices Canada (IJV) is an organization that describes itself as representing Canadian Jews who have a strong commitment to social justice and universal human rights. The organization was founded in 2008 as a result of a national conference called on behalf of the Alliance of Concerned Jewish Canadians. Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee
The Canadian Jewish Political Affairs Committee (CJPAC) is a Canadian national, independent, multi-partisan organization. Its mandate is to engage Jewish and pro-Israel Canadians in the democratic process and to foster active political participation. CJPAC is dedicated to helping community members build relationships within Canadian politics. CJPAC's programs include a Fellowship program which is geared toward university students, the Generation program for high school students, the summer camp tour, and campaign training. CJPAC's events include the ACTION parties held in Montreal and Toronto, as well as Women in Politics. Hershell Ezrin
Hershell Ezrin (born 1947) a Canadian executive who was the founding Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Council for Israel and Jewish Advocacy, a national lobby group which funds the Canadian Jewish Congress and is linked with the United Jewish Appeal across Canada. He retired from CIJA in 2010. He is currently Managing Director of Ezrin Communications, and a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Ryerson University's Ted Rogers School of Management for the 2013–14 school year. In his earlier career as a public servant, Ezrin served as Canadian consul in New York City and Los Angeles. Subsequently, he served in the Privy Council Office under Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
