Center City is a city and the county seat of Chisago County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 628 at the 2010 census. U.S. Highway 8 serves as a main route. History Center City was platted in 1857, and named from its location near the geographic center. A post office was established as Centre City in 1858, and the name was changed to Center City in 1893. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and is water. Nearby places include Lindström, Shafer, Taylors Falls, St. Croix Falls, Chisago City, Stacy, Wyoming, North Branch, and Forest Lake. Center City High School was an accredited alternative high school located in Escondido, California, part of the Escondido Union High School District. Center City's mode of instruction was independent study, which is an instructional strategy that responds to students' needs and styles of learning. Centre City Mall, Dunedin
The Centre City Mall is the oldest existing and second largest shopping complex in Dunedin, New Zealand. Located in the central city, it is bounded by Great King Street and Castle Street in the block between St. Andrew's Street and Hanover Street, immediately to the south of Dunedin Hospital. The mall, built in the late 1970s, contains 20 shops, with the key tenant being Dunedin's largest supermarket, Centre City New World. Other shops include several clothing retailers, chemists, a cafe, a musical instrument retailer, a health food store, craft shops, and a florist. The design of the centre (excluding New World) is roughly square and single-storeyed, with a block of shops in the centre of a corridor loop, with the other shops to the outside. The Centre City Building (formerly known as the ''United Brethren Building'') is an historic building at 36-44 South Main Street at the corner of East Fourth Street in downtown Dayton, Ohio. It was designed by Charles Herby and built in 1904 by the F.A. Requarth Co. for the sum of $305,000 as the headquarters of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ Christian denomination. Originally 14 stories, it was the tallest building in Dayton from 1904 until 1931. A seven-story tower portion was completed in 1924, capped by a chapel for the Church, making it 21 stories total. It is considered to have been Dayton's first skyscraper. It housed the general offices of the church, and of the succeeding Evangelical United Brethren Church. Center City Historic District is a grouping of 19 homes and one church located along the east side of Summit Avenue situated on a hill overlooking North Center Lake in Center City, Minnesota, United States. It was listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Center City became the county seat of Chisago County in the 1870s, during a time of Swedish migration and settlement in the county.
