The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Vietnamese: ''Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam'') is the highest decision-making body of the party between convocations of the National Congress. History The Central Committee was established on 3 February 1930 when the Communist Party of Indochina and the Communist Party of Annam merged. The Political Bureau (Politburo) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam ( vi, Bộ Chính trị Ban Chấp hành Trung ương Đảng Cộng sản Việt Nam), formerly the Standing Committee of the Central Committee from 1930 to 1951, is the highest body of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) between Central Committee meetings, which are held at least twice a year. According to Party rules, the Politburo directs the general orientation of the government and enacts policies which have been approved by either the National Party Congress or the Central Committee. Tô Huy Rứa (born 4 June 1947 in Thanh Hóa Province) is a Vietnamese politician and served as previous Chairman of the CPV Commission for Organisation. During the 10th Politburo, Tô held the posts of Chairman of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the Theoretical Council. Đinh Thế Huynh (born 15 May 1953 in Nam Định Province) is a Vietnamese politician and journalist who served as Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, one of the country's five key leaders along with the General Secretary, President, Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the National Assembly.
