Central Canadian Women's Football League
The Central Canadian Women's Football League (CCWFL) is a full-contact Canadian football league supported by Football Quebec and Football Ontario. Originally founded in 2014, the league played its first season in 2022. It thus became the third cross-province league for women's football in Canada, alongside the Western Women's Canadian Football League and the Maritime Women's Football League. In French, the league is named the ''Ligue centrale canadienne de football féminin'' ''(LCCFF)''. History The Central Canadian league was first formed in 2014, intending to play a 2015 season. Football Canada made the announcement in April 2014 of an over-18s' women's tackle football league. CFL Football
The Canadian Football League (CFL; french: Ligue canadienne de football—LCF) is a professional sports league in Canada. The CFL is the highest level of competition in Canadian football. The league consists of nine teams, each located in a city in Canada. They are divided into two divisions: four teams in the East Division and five teams in the West Division. As of 2022, it features a 21-week regular season in which each team plays 18 games with three bye weeks. This season traditionally runs from mid-June to early November. Following the regular season, six teams compete in the league's three-week playoffs, which culminate in the Grey Cup championship game in late November. Saadia Ashraf
Saadia Ashraf is an American football coach for Team Canada, Team Quebec, and the Montreal Blitz Football Organizations. She is also a former championship quarterback of Canada women's national American football team, Team Canada, Team Quebec and the Montreal Blitz. She has a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical Education from McGill University, and works as a high school teacher in Montreal. She also actively coaches youth girls and boys flag football in the high school GMAA/RSEQ league. IFAF Women's World Championship
The IFAF Women's World Championship is the international championship for women in American football. The first event was held in 2010, in Stockholm, Sweden, with six countries competing. The United States took home the gold while not letting any team they played score. The second event was held in 2013, with Vantaa, Finland, hosting the games. The United States swept the competitors again, winning the gold medal. Third event was played in 2017 with Canada as the host nation. The U.S. took the gold medal for the third time, again beating the host nation Canada in the final. In December 2018 IFAF announced that Finland will host the final tournament in 2021. The Canada women's national American football team is the official American football senior national team of Canada. History Canada debuted at the first IFAF Women's World Championship in 2010. They advanced to the championship game and received the silver medal after losing to the United States in the championship game. Antoine Pruneau is a Canadian football defensive back for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Eddie Brown (Canadian Football)
"Downtown" Eddie Brown (born August 6, 1966) is a former slotback in the Canadian Football League between 1990 & 2002. Brown played with eight CFL teams, and appeared in two Grey Cup championships with the Edmonton Eskimos, winning the 81st Grey Cup in 1993. In 1995, he played for the Memphis Mad Dogs. In 1996, after the demise of the Memphis Mad Dogs, he re-signed with the Edmonton Eskimos. In 1999, he played for the BC Lions. In total he caught 532 passes for 8663 yards in 160 career CFL games with 63 touchdowns.
