The Central California Conference is a high school sports league in Central California. It comprises six schools in the Stanislaus and Merced County area. Merced County ( ), is a county located in the northern San Joaquin Valley section of the Central Valley, in the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 281,202. The county seat is Merced. The county is named after the Merced River. California Interscholastic Federation
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) is the governing body for high school sports in the U.S. state of California. CIF membership includes both public and private high schools. Unlike most other state organizations, it does not have a single, statewide championships for all sports; instead, for some sports, the CIF's 10 Sections each have their own championships. Six schools near the state border are members of adjacent state's associations. San Pasqual Valley High School is part of the Arizona Interscholastic Association. Sac-Joaquin Section
The Sac-Joaquin Section (SJS) is the governing body of public and private high school athletics in parts of Northern San Joaquin Valley, California. Its geographic area also covers the California portion of the Lake Tahoe region; however, three schools in that area—North Tahoe, Truckee, and South Tahoe High Schools—are instead members of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association due to their relative isolation from other California schools and their proximity to more populated areas in Nevada, especially in the Reno area. It is one of ten sections that compose the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). The SJS is split into seven divisions, each comprising several leagues. Buhach Colony High School
Buhach Colony High School is a public high school in Atwater, California, United States. Opened in 2001, the school is part of the Merced Union High School District. The school colors are black and gold, and the mascot is Thor. The name refers to the unincorporated community of Buhach, where in the 1890's Portuguese immigrant farmers who owned their land were known as the Buhach Colony. Curriculum Buhach Colony High School has changed its period schedule as of this year. It now runs a 7 period schedule. Classes begin at 8:30 AM and conclude at 3:15 PM. Central Valley High School (also known as Central Valley or CV) is an American public high school for students between the 9th and 12th grade. It is a large school, with over 2,200 students. It was founded in 2004 to help alleviate the enrollment stress on cross-town Ceres High School. Central Valley is located in Ceres, California in the Central Valley of California, and is the second high school in that city.
