	Central Auditing Commission Of The Workers' Party Of Korea The Central Auditing Commission (CAC) of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) (조선로동당중앙검사위원회) is the highest control body in the party between sessions of the party congress. The organ has been in existence since the 2nd Party Congress in 1948. The CAC was until the 8th WPK Congress elected by the delegates of the party congress but a rule change in 2021 transferred the election rights to the WPK Central Committee. The 8th WPK Congress abolished the WPK Inspection Commission on 10 Januar 2021 and transferred its duties to the CAC. This article defines national meetings as party congresses ( ko, 조선로동당 당대회) and conferences of party representatives ( ko, 조선로동당 대표자회). The party Congress is nominally the highest body of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) according to its charter. The charter stated specifically that it should convene at least every fifth year; however, the congress has historically never managed to be convened in that time frame. There was a gap of 36 years between the 6th Congress and the 7th Congress. However, two party conferences were convened in the period 2010–2012. The 3rd Party Conference in 2010 formally deleted the five-year clause from the party charter, but it was later restored at the 8th Congress in 2021. The congress is the highest organ of the party, and is stipulated to be held every four years. 999 delegates represented the party's 750,000 members. According to WPK rules, the Central Committee is elected by the party congress and the party conference can be conferred the right to renew its membership composition. In practice, the Central Committee has the ability to dismiss and appoint new members without consulting with the wider party at its own plenary sessions. 	8th Congress Of The Workers' Party Of Korea The 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the April 25 House of Culture in Pyongyang from 5 to 12 January 2021. A total of 7,000 people participated in the congress including 5,000 delegates. The Party Congress took place in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic where no cases were reported. 	Inspection Commission Of The Workers' Party Of Korea The Control Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea() was a control organ established at the 1st WPNK Congress in 1946 and abolished at the 8th WPK Congress in 2021. According to the party rules it was responsible for investigating if party members breached party rules and policies.
