Center of Military Chaplaincy () is a Ukrainian religious organization within the Curia of Lviv Archeparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church that works directly with Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Center of Military Chaplaincy provides counseling and pastoral care to officers, soldiers and their families. Saints Peter and Paul Garrison Church ( uk, Гарнізонна церква святих апостолів Петра і Павла)(1610-1630) (known as the Jesuit Church) is an historic church in Lviv, Ukraine. The church was built by the Society of Jesus in the baroque style at the beginning of the 17th century. It was closed by the Soviet Government in 1946 and used as a warehouse and book depository for several decades. In 2010, the church was turned over to the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, which restored the church and re-consecrated it in 2011. History Church construction In 1584, Jesuit missionaries arrived in Lviv and by 1590 had erected their first church. It was a wooden structure near the western part of the city's defensive walls where the Jesuit gate was located. The construction on a more permanent church began in 1610. The Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC; uk, Українська автокефальна православна церква (УАПЦ), Ukrayinska avtokefalna pravoslavna tserkva (UAPC)) was one of the three major Eastern Orthodox churches in Ukraine. It was reestablished for the third time in 1990, right before the fall of the Soviet Union. Lubomyr Husar MSU ( uk, Любомир Гузар, Liubomyr Huzar; 26 February 1933 – 31 May 2017) was the Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the first elected in independent Ukraine. He was also a cardinal of the Catholic Church. After the transfer of the see of Lviv to Kyiv in 2005, he was the Ukrainian Catholic Major Archbishop of Kyiv-Galicia. In February 2011 he became Major Archeparch Emeritus after he resigned due to ill health. Ihor Vozniak (born 3 August 1951) is the Archbishop of Lviv since 2005, succeeding Lubomyr Husar. Life Vozniak was born on 3 August 1951 in Lypytsi, in Mykolaiv Raion, Lviv Oblast, in the Ukrainian SSR of the Soviet Union (in present-day Ukraine).
