Celebrity (TV Programme)
''Celebrity'' was a British entertainment news programme, broadcast every weekday afternoon on ITV between 25 September and 22 December 2000. Background ''Celebrity'' featured entertainment news, celebrity interviews and coverage of events from the world of television, music and film - in a similar format to that of ''Access Hollywood'' broadcast on American television. The programme was presented by former CBBC presenter Andi Peters and GMTV newsreader Penny Smith live from MTV's studios in Camden every weekday afternoon between 5.05 pm and 5.30 pm. Other contributors included Richard Blackwood, Emma Bunton, Josie d'Arby, Keith Duffy and Melanie Sykes who would present interviews for the programme, or host when Peters and Smith were unavailable. Andi Peters
Andi Eleazu Peters (born 29 July 1970) is a British television presenter, producer, journalist and voice actor, currently employed by ITV and known for presenting Children's BBC, roles on breakfast TV shows ''Live & Kicking'', ''GMTV'', '' Good Morning Britain'' and ''Lorraine'', and for hosting '' Dancing on Ice: Extra'' and ''The Big Reunion''. He competed in the first series of the ITV skating competition ''Dancing on Ice''. He appeared in the third series of ''Celebrity MasterChef'' finishing as runner-up behind Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon. Career Television During his early television career, Andi Peters worked for ITV as an presenter for Thames Television and as in-vision continuity announcer for CITV. Home And Away
''Home and Away'' (often abbreviated as ''H&A'') is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. The soap opera was initially going to be called ''Refuge'', but the name was changed to the "friendlier" title of ''Home and Away'' once production began. The show premiered with a ninety-minute pilot episode (subsequently in re-runs and on VHS known as ''Home and Away: The Movie''). Since then, each subsequent episode has aired for a duration of twenty-two minutes. Carlton Television (now part of the non-franchised ITV London region) was the ITV franchise holder for London and the surrounding counties from 9.25am every Monday to 5.15pm every Friday. The company is now managed with London Weekend Television as a single entity (ITV London), but the two companies are still separately licensed. The station is owned and operated by ITV plc under the licensee of "ITV Broadcasting Limited". Carlton has been branded on air as "ITV1" since 28 October 2002, and as "ITV" since 14 January 2013. ''The Weakest Link'' is a British television quiz show, mainly broadcast on BBC Two and BBC One. It was devised by Fintan Coyle and Cathy Dunning and developed for television by the BBC Entertainment Department. The game begins with a team of nine contestants, (eight in the revival), who take turns answering general knowledge questions within a time limit to create chains of nine correct answers in a row. At the end of each round, the players then vote one contestant, "the weakest link", out of the game. After two players are left, they play in a head-to-head penalty shootout format, with five questions asked to each contestant in turn, to determine the winner. ''Night and Day'' is a British mystery soap opera, produced by Granada Television for LWT, that first broadcast on 6 November 2001 on ITV, and ran until 5 June 2003. The series was launched as part of ITV's new early evening line-up, with an enormous amount of pre-publicity and trailers promoting the series. ''Crossroads'' (later known as ''Crossroads Motel'' and ''Crossroads King's Oak'') is a British television soap opera that ran on ITV over two periods – the original 1964 to 1988 run, followed by a short revival from 2001 to 2003. Set in a fictional motel (hotel in the revival) in the Midlands, ''Crossroads'' became a byword for cheap production values, particularly in the 1970s and early 1980s. Despite this, the series regularly attracted huge audiences during this time, with ratings as high as 15 million viewers. Channel 5 is a British free-to-air public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, public broadcast television channel launched in 1997.
