"Cccan't You See" is a 1984 single by synth-pop duo Vicious Pink. Released as their third single, it charted at No. 67 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming their only top 75 entry on that chart. Background "Cccan't You See" was Vicious Pink's third single, after "My Private Tokyo" and "Je t'aime (moi non plus)". It was recorded in September 1983 at Buckinghamshire's FarmYard Studios. For this single, the band had acquired a new producer, Tony Mansfield of New Musik; their previous producer, Dave Ball, was also a member of Soft Cell, and left after the release of "Je t'aime" after Soft Cell had an international hit single with " Tainted Love". The single featured Mansfield's Fairlight CMI, which was used to sample Russian choirs from short wave radio in an effort to defuse tensions caused by the Cold War, which was a major issue at the time. Vicious Pink is a synth-pop duo formed in Leeds, England in 1981. They reformed for a new album in 2023 and will perform live again in 2024 History With a catchy sound and a penchant for highly provocative and sexualized lyrics, the band's music was aimed toward clubs rather than commercial hits. Vicious Pink consisted of two members, English/ French singer Josephine Warden and keyboardist Brian Moss. The duo began as backing vocalists for Soft Cell, then known as Vicious Pink Phenomena. The Jupiter-8, or JP-8, is an eight-voice polyphonic analog subtractive synthesizer introduced by Roland Corporation in early 1981. The Jupiter-8 was Roland's flagship synthesizer for the first half of the 1980s. Approximately 3300 units have been produced. Although it lacked the soon-to-be standard of MIDI control, later production series of the Jupiter-8 did include Roland's proprietary DCB interface. The instrument had many advanced features for its time, including the ability to split the keyboard into two zones, with separate patches active on each zone. Eden Studios
Eden Studios was a commercial recording facility in west London. It opened in 1967, originally at 11 Eden Street in Kingston upon Thames (now under the Eden Walk shopping centre), before moving to 20-24 Beaumont Road in Chiswick in 1972. It was started by Philip Love, Mike Gardner and Piers Ford-Crush. Love and Gardner owned the studio and worked there as financial and technical directors, respectively. Ford-Crush retired in 1998. The studio closed in July 2007 and the Chiswick site was demolished for housing. Multitrack recording (MTR), also known as multitracking or tracking, is a method of sound recording developed in 1955 that allows for the separate recording of multiple sound sources or of sound sources recorded at different times to create a cohesive whole.
