The Catholic Church in the Middle East is under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Holy See, Rome. Catholic Church In The Palestinian Territories
The Catholic Church in Palestine is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. There are over 80,000 Catholics in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories (the Gaza Strip and the West Bank), mostly in the agglomeration between Ramallah and Bethlehem, including the West Bank-suburbs of Jerusalem. Adherents are mostly of the Latin Church, but there is also a small community of the Melkite Catholic Patriarchate of Antioch and Jerusalem, belonging to the Melkite Catholic Church. Both are in full communion with the Holy See as part of the worldwide Catholic Church. There are two archbishops of Jerusalem, one for each jurisdiction. The Catholic Church in Oman is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. There are approximately 55,000 Catholics in Oman (about 2% of the total population), mostly migrant workers expatriates. Oman forms part of the Vicariate Apostolic of Southern Arabia along with Yemen and the United Arab Emirates, with its center in the city of Abu Dhabi. The Maronite Church is an Eastern Catholic ''sui iuris'' particular church in full communion with the pope and the worldwide Catholic Church, with self-governance under the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches. The Catholic Church in Kuwait is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. There are over 140,000 Catholics in the country – representing about 6% of the population. There are no dioceses in the country, but Kuwait falls under the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia.
