''Cartouche, King of Paris'' or just ''Cartouche'' (French: ''Cartouche, roi de Paris'') is a 1950 French historical adventure film directed by Guillaume Radot and starring Roger Pigaut, Renée Devillers and Claire Duhamel.Klossner p.64 The film's sets were designed by the art director Marcel Magniez. It portrays the eighteenth century highwaymen Louis Dominique Bourguignon, known as Cartouche. René Worms (8 December 1869, Rennes – 12 February 1926, Paris) was a French auditor of the ''Conseil d'État''. He was the son of professor of political economics, Émile Worms. Early life and education Worms was educated at the lyceum of his native city, at the Lycée Charlemagne, and at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris (docteur en droit, 1891; docteur ès lettres, and docteur ès sciences politiques et economiques, 1896). Worms, who was a member of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques of the Institut de France, became a member of the higher statistical board in 1897 and of the consulting committee for agricultural statistics in 1903, besides being a member of many learned societies. Jean Carmet (; 25 April 1920 – 20 April 1994) was a French actor. Life and career Jean Carmet began working on stage and then in film in the early 1940s becoming a very popular comedic actor in his native country. He is best known internationally for his role as a French colonist in the 1976 film, '' La Victoire en Chantant'' (Black and White in Color). Because of his good-natured manner, he was as popular with members of the film crew as he was with the audiences. During his long career, he appeared in more than 200 films, and although he sometimes played dramatic parts, he more often acted in a supporting role as a comedic character.
