Manuel Romero (director)
Manuel Romeo (September 21, 1891 – October 3, 1954 in Buenos Aires) was an Argentine film director, screenwriter, dramatist and score composer, and one of the influential directors in the cinema of Argentina of the classic era. He directed and wrote over 50 films between 1931 and 1951 even composing the musical scores for several. He was a pioneer of Variety Theatre, and one of the few tango lyrical writers that has reached timeless classical success. When he was a teenager, he began his journalist job in the Magacine Fray Mochoy, and in the newspapers Crítica y Última Hora. His first play, "Teatro breve" is from 1919 with the collaboration of Ivo Pelay. He wrote 180 more. In 1922 the most famous, "El bailarín del cabaret", was staged with the César Ratti's company, where Corsini triunfó (had a success) with "Patotero sentimental". Florencio Parravicini
Florencio Parravicini (24 August 1876 – 25 March 1941) was an Argentine actor who primarily worked during the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema, performing on both stage and in films. From an aristocratic family, he was a relative of the artist Benjamín Solari Parravicini (1898-1974). He began his career singing ''música criolla'', a Latino folk genre of music that exists in many countries throughout Latin America. He appeared in more than three hundred theatrical works and films, becoming one of the leading figures of Argentine entertainment. Facing cancer, Parravicini committed suicide in 1941. Sofía Bozán
Sofía Bozán (5 November 1904 – 9 July 1958) was an Argentine film actress and tango performer of the 1930s and 1940s. She made almost 30 appearances in film between 1937 and 1959. She began her career in acting in 1931 and appeared in films such as '' Puerto nuevo'' in 1936 and '' Loco lindo'' (1937) and '' Muchachas que estudian'' in 1939. She also appeared in the tango film '' Arriba el telón o el patio de la morocha'' in 1951 as herself. She was the sister of Elena Bozán. Sofia Bozán died of cancer only aged 53 in 1958. Sabina Olmos (1913–1999) pseudonym of Rosa Herminia Gómez Ramos was an Argentine film actress of the Golden Age of Argentine Cinema (1940–1960). She began her career as a radio songstress of folklore and tango. Later, she developed a long film career with Lumiton studies, where she made a series of films directed by Manuel Romero and Francisco Mugica, like ''La rubia del camino'', '' Mujeres que trabajan'' and '' La vida es un tango''. "Felicia", her role in the 1939 film '' Así es la vida'' created a genre known as "Argentine suffering" throughout Latin America, because all the characters were either suffering severe angst or crying in equal measure throughout the films.
