Carmen Virginia Tyson-Thomas (born January 10, 1991) is an American basketball player. She won both the Slovenian and Chilean championship in 2014 and led the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild kvenna in scoring in 2017 and 2018. In 2018, she won the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup with Ferroviario Maputo. College Tyson-Thomas played for Syracuse from 2009 to 2013, averaging 8.9 points in 136 games. The Snæfell women's basketball team, commonly known as Snæfell, is the women's basketball department of Ungmennafélagið Snæfell, based in Stykkishólmur, Iceland. Grindavík () is a fishing town on the Southern Peninsula of Iceland not far from the tuya Þorbjörn. It is one of the few cities with a harbour on this coast. The Icelandic Women's Basketball Cup (Icelandic: Bikarkeppni KKÍ), also known as VÍS bikarinn for sponsorship reasons, is an annual basketball competition between clubs in Iceland. It is Iceland's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Iceland's former second-tier cup competition, the Company Cup. The 2017–18 Úrvalsdeild kvenna was the 61st season of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top tier women's basketball league on Iceland. The season started on October 4, 2017 and concluded on April 30, 2018, with Haukar winning their fourth title after beating Valur 3–2 in the Úrvalsdeild finals. Helena Sverrisdóttir was named the Playoffs MVP after averaging 20.2 points, 12.2 rebounds and 10.8 assists in the finals series.
