Carmen Smith, Baroness Smith Of Llanfaes
Carmen Ria Smith, Baroness Smith of Llanfaes (born 15 March 1996), is a Welsh politician. She has been a member of the House of Lords for Plaid Cymru since 2024. Early life Smith was born on 15 March 1996 in Salisbury in Wiltshire, and moved with her family to Llanfaes on the Isle of Anglesey aged seven. She attended Ysgol David Hughes and later Coleg Menai, where she was the students' union president of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai. She was a carer to her father, who had dementia. Smith studied law at Bangor University for one year before leaving her studies to campaign to become the deputy president of NUS Wales. She was elected to that role in 2016, and later served as acting president at the end of her term. She was also a board member of the European Students' Union. The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions. Laura Kuenssberg
Laura Juliet Kuenssberg (born 8 August 1976) is a British journalist who currently presents the BBC's flagship Sunday morning politics show. She succeeded Nick Robinson as political editor of BBC News in July 2015, and was the first woman to hold the position. Kuenssberg stepped down as political editor on 6 May 2022, after reporting on the 2022 United Kingdom local elections. Elfyn Llwyd (born 26 September 1951) is a Welsh barrister and politician. He was a Member of Parliament, representing Meirionnydd Nant Conwy in the House of Commons from 1992 to 2010 and Dwyfor Meirionnydd from 2010 to 2015. Llwyd was Plaid Cymru's Westminster parliamentary group leader. He was announced in August 2021 as the Pro-Chancellor of Aberystwyth University. Dafydd Wynne Wigley, Baron Wigley, (born David Wigley; 1 April 1943) is a Welsh politician. He served as Plaid Cymru Member of Parliament (MP) for Caernarfon from 1974 until 2001 and as Assembly Member for Caernarfon from 1999 until 2003. He was the leader of Plaid Cymru from 1981 to 1984 and again from 1991 to 2000.
