Carmen
''Carmen'' () is an opera in four acts by the French composer Georges Bizet. The libretto was written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, based on the Carmen (novella), novella of the same title by Prosper Mérimée. The opera was first performed by the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 3 March 1875, where its breaking of conventions shocked and scandalised its first audiences. Bizet died suddenly after the 33rd performance, unaware that the work would achieve international acclaim within the following ten years. ''Carmen'' has since become one of the most popular and frequently performed operas in the classical Western canon, canon; the "Habanera (aria), Habanera" from act 1 and the "Toreador Song" from act 2 are among the best known of all operatic arias. The opera is written in the genre of ''opéra comique'' with musical numbers separated by dialogue. It is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of th ...

A Hip Hopera
A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''a'' (pronounced ), plural ''aes''. It is similar in shape to the Ancient Greek letter alpha, from which it derives. The uppercase version consists of the two slanting sides of a triangle, crossed in the middle by a horizontal bar. The lowercase version can be written in two forms: the double-storey a and single-storey É‘. The latter is commonly used in handwriting and fonts based on it, especially fonts intended to be read by children, and is also found in italic type. In English grammar, " a", and its variant " an", are indefinite articles. History The earliest certain ancestor of "A" is aleph (also written 'aleph), the first letter of the Phoenician alphabet, which consisted entirely of consonants (for that reason, it is also called an abjad to distinguish it fro ...

The animated music video, illustrated by Sylvain Chomet, the director of Belleville Rendez-Vous, was posted on social networks by the Facebook account of the American news website BuzzFeed Music. The video and lyrics of the song violently attack social networks through the depiction of the Twitter bird, set to the tune of " Habanera" from Georges Bizet's opera ''Carmen''. Themes The song is an adaptation of the aria L'amour est un oiseau rebelle (Love is a rebellious bird - more commonly known in English as Habanera), from the opera Carmen by French composer Georges Bizet. The song addresses the theme of alienation through social networks. Music video The animated video was drawn by Sylvain Chomet. At the beginning of the clip, a young Stromae can be seen on his Twitter account. A little blue bird arrives (representative of the mascot of Twitter) who starts to hum. Stromae take ...

Peace (Anything Box Album)
''Peace'' is the debut album by the American band Anything Box, released in 1990 on Epic Records. It was remastered and rereleased on endpop in 2018. The album includes "Living in Oblivion", the band's biggest hit, which found success in both the clubs and on radio. Production The album was produced by Jon St. James. Critical reception The ''Los Angeles Times'' determined that "songs are put together like Lego houses, out of discreet bits of linked melodic material... But the process becomes formulaic after a while: mechanical beats overlaid with soft keyboard gauze and a puff of vocal melody." AllMusic wrote that "the Anything Box sound can be likened to that of Erasure, with simple pop hooks, soaring vocals, and bubbly synths." ''Spin'' noted that "Living in Oblivion" "revive the dread that was barely concealed in all those '70s Bee Gees disco hits." Track listing #"Living in Oblivion ''Living in Oblivion'' is a 1995 American independent black comedy film, written and dire ...

Anarchic System
Anarchic System was a French pop group formed in the early 1970s. The band's members were parts of other groups from the rock scene of northern France. They were in good friendship when the opportunity of recording the "Popcorn" cover was given to them by Paul de Senneville (of Delphine Records) in 1972. They were chosen because of Christian Lerouge's incredible ability in using a Minimoog. Commercial success (700,000 copies) gave the band an opportunity to release two other singles ("Carmen Brasilia" and "Royal Summer"), even before they were signed in 1973. The band's songs are mostly attributed to electronic music due to the presence of a keyboard in "Popcorn (instrumental), Popcorn", "Carmen Brasilia" and the long version of "Generation". However, other singles are influenced by rock genres. Their influence were Uriah Heep (band), Uriah Heep, Warhorse (70s band), Warhorse, Black Sabbath and such.
